Summer party season is here!

We are delighted that the Summer party season is now upon us!

Cherry blossom trees are in full bloom with their exquisite clouds of pink along our streets, and London’s glorious parks are packed with a dazzling array of colourful flowers.

Summer party season is always an exciting time of the year, offering event planners a wide selection of style choices that are more limited at other times. We can finally ditch the blues, greys and blacks of Winter and opt for more colourful styling schemes.

Seasonal produce
British produce literally shines in June. Each morning, our busy kitchens are awash with deliveries, which now include the vibrant greens of broad beans, asparagus and peas, delicate elderflower, and radiant Summer berries.

If you can face a 4am alarm call, head to the flower market where your bleary eyes will find alliums, blue cornflowers, delphiniums, tulips, lavender and lots of fragrant herbs.

Colourful menus
We recently worked with Mango Pie, or as we call them the ‘Queens of Colour’, and we are always wowed by their event design colour schemes. At the National Portrait Gallery, we collaborated on the design of a colourful food station for a drinks reception (pictured below).

The vibrant station featured Prosciutto cannelloni, truffle and pea mousse, Tandoori carrots, Vadouvan yoghurt, poppadum crumble (pictured top), Burrata, Mara des Bois strawberry vinegar and basil granite, and Parmesan cone, truffled cream cheese, pea puree and puffed rice.

Mango Pie’s top Summer party venues
We spoke to Mango Pie about some of their favourite Summer party venues. Whilst this will always be a difficult question to answer, given the incredible range of venues we are so privileged to work with, they managed to narrow their choice down to three…

Stationers Hall
“Stationers Hall, close to the City, has a delightful garden that can accommodate up to 200 guests under the impressive shaded plane tree.

Should the heatwave turn to a monsoon, guests can move to stunning indoor spaces such as the Court Room or Main Hall.

Kensington Palace
The newly built Pavilion at Kensington Palace has the same interior feel as the Orangery, with its wood panelled walls, and can hold up to 800 guests for a standing reception.

The Pavilion is more than just another marquee space, as you can also benefit from the surrounding sunken garden, a covered terrace and the view of the Palace itself.

Royal Hospital Chelsea
In addition to their stylish outdoor reception space, Burton Court, Royal Hospital Chelsea’s Ranelagh Gardens are available for late Summer parties from the end of August through to mid-October.

It is a highly adaptable area with scope for large marquees, that can be used for barbeques, away days, sports events, drinks parties and children’s events, accommodating up to 400 guests.”
