Royal Hospital Chelsea

Royal Hospital Chelsea

Home to the world famous Chelsea Pensioners, Royal Hospital Chelsea is a unique venue offering a number of historic and beautiful spaces to hire.

As a working venue it is home to the Chelsea Pensioners, there are certain restrictions in place to allow them the privacy to have their lunch in the Great Hall, which only adds to the charm. With a spectacular Antonio Verrio 17th century painting at the far end, an event in the hall is always breath-taking.

The State Apartments was Charles II’s preferred entertaining space and today is still used for private receptions and dinners for up to 90 guests. With a beautiful fireplace which looks stunning with flowers on the mantel piece, it is a wonderful setting for an intimate dinner.

The Figure Court is an optional additional space and is perfect for entertaining during Chelsea Flower Show in May.

Wren House was opened in 2016 having previously been a private residence. Lighter and airier than the Great Hall and State Apartments, it has a very homely feel and has the capacity to host dinner for up to 40 guests.

Our venue specialist, Anna, would choose to have guests arriving through the Chapel Gate and line a path through the figure court with hurricane lanterns leading into the State Apartments for an intimate dinner on one long table.

Reception capacity – 400

Dinner capacity – 250
